Bill is a Managing Director and Partner in L.E.K.’s Media and Entertainment practice. Bill has 25 years of experience in strategy, organization and mergers & acquisitions and has overseen a wide range of content protection projects.

Ian Hamilton has been an innovator and entrepreneur in Internetworking infrastructure and applications for more than 20 years. As a founding member of Signiant, he has led the development of innovative software solutions to address the challenges of fast, secure content distribution over the public Internet and private intranets for many of the media and entertainment industries’ largest companies. Prior to Signiant, Ian was Chairman and Vice President of Product Development at ISOTRO Network Management. He was responsible for launching ISOTRO’s software business unit and created the NetID product suite before the company was successfully acquired by Bay Networks. Ian held senior management positions at Bay Networks and subsequently Nortel Networks, from which Signiant emerged. Previously Ian was a Member of Scientific Staff at Bell Northern Research performing applied research and development in the areas of Internetworking and security.

Mike Smith serves as the Director for Akamai’s Customer Security Incident Response Team and is responsible for leading a team of web security incident responders and researchers that study the tactics, techniques, and procedures of web attackers and apply that knowledge to help protect Akamai customers during events such as site defacements, data breaches, and distributed denial of service.  Prior to his current role, Mr Smith served as Akamai’s Security Evangelist and as the customer-facing ambassador for the Information Security Team, helping customers to understand both the internal security program and the unique security features and capabilities of the Akamai product portfolio and cloud-based solutions.

Ryan is responsible for WatchDox’s products and marketing. He focuses on making sure as many organizations as possible know how WatchDox can protect their most sensitive information. With 14 years of experience in a variety of roles in the US and EMEA, Ryan has an extensive background in information security. Prior to WatchDox, Ryan ran solutions across HP’s portfolio of security products. Before its acquisition by HP, Ryan was director of products at ArcSight. Previously with VeriSign, Ryan held a variety of positions, including EMEA regional manager and senior product manager. Prior to its acquisition by VeriSign, Kalember was one of the founding members of Guardent’s consulting practice, helping clients build many of the world’s leading security organizations. Before joining Guardent, Ryan co-founded a company that created authentication and encryption tools, working with financial institutions and government agencies before contributing the technology to the open source community.

Ryan received his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, where he studied fault tolerance, cryptography, and authentication algorithms.
